Growing a city that feeds itself.
Metrofarm transforms Singapore's rooftops, car parks and underutilised spaces into thriving urban farms—reconnecting our community to where food comes from, one harvest at a time.

Our Purpose
A Garden City
that feeds itself
For decades, Singapore imported over 90% of its vegetables—dependent on supply chains thousands of miles long. Meanwhile our rooftops, our carparks, our industrial terraces sat waiting. Metrofarm turns them into living farms.
Our flagship rooftop farm sits on Level 7 of the Downtown East Pasir Ris, multi-storey carpark - growing pesticide-free produce above the parked cars of the neighbourhood it feeds.
"A food-secure Singapore is a confident Singapore. We are not just farming—we are building national resilience, one harvest at a time."— Metrofarm Vision

People & Community
Building Singapore's
farming community
Food security requires people. We are training, employing and celebrating the farming community of tomorrow.

From Classroom to Rooftop
Through our Aquaponics Learning Enterprise (ALE) at Temasek Polytechnic's Applied Science Block 8A, students don't just study theory. They seed, tend, harvest and taste. They graduate understanding that farming is precision, innovation and stewardship.
Pathways to Prosperity
We employ Singaporeans across cultivation, IoT maintenance, logistics and hospitality. Today's technician becomes tomorrow's farm manager. Yesterday's student launches their own vertical farm.
Academic Partnership: SIT & SFA
Developed under a joint research grant with the Singapore Institute of Technology, our automated valve networks and solar infrastructure serve as an official precedent case study for the Singapore Food Agency's 30-by-30 programme.
Voices from Our Community

"Keeping water chemistry stable across five loops isn't glamorous. But when a batch hits perfect weight on day 23 and the water reads clean, you know exactly why the work matters."

"I came in thinking farming was something my grandparents left behind. I left designing my own recirculating system. This is an engineering career that happens to feed people."

"The rocket arrives still warm from the growing frame. When guests ask where it's from and we say 'six kilometres away, harvested this morning'—that lands harder than any menu description."

The philosophy
of connected food
It is not just a supply chain. It is a philosophy—how we restore meaning to eating, and reconnect Singaporeans to the land that feeds them.
The Promise
Pure by nature. Clean by promise. We guarantee that every crop from Metrofarm is 100% pesticide-free. By relying on our closed-loop biology and natural ecosystem controls, we deliver greens that are as safe as they are nutrient-dense.
"When you know your vegetable was harvested this morning, in your city, by someone building a career—you don't eat the same. The meaning deepens."— Metrofarm Kitchen Partners

Who We Feed Daily
Direct B2B deliveries, every morning, to Singapore's finest kitchens—and to community tables across the island.
The Science
The beauty
of closed loops
Technology in service of nature. Together with LifeLabs Resources, we close the loop: food waste → fish feed → healthy fish → nutrients → fresh vegetables → back to people. Nothing wasted. Everything transformed.

The Invisible City:
Waste to Wonder
Your transit card beeps. The gantry opens. And suddenly you're inside a Singapore you've never seen—the one working quietly beneath the one you know.
Follow yesterday's dinner as it becomes tomorrow's harvest. Stand close enough to the tanks to hear the water moving. Watch a city's leftovers turn into life. Then climb to the rooftop, pull a living salad from the towers with your own hands, and taste something no supermarket can sell you: a city that feeds itself. You'll walk out in ninety minutes. The way you look at food won't.

The City We Know
Everyday life, everyday systems—the trucks, the routines, the Singapore of memory and habit.
What Happens After?
Collection. Transformation. New purpose. Watch food waste become fish feed become nutrients become food—live, in front of you.
What Is Our Role?
Remember. Reflect. Reimagine. Then the rooftop: your hands, the towers, the harvest. The Singapore Wager & Harvest Disco Salad.
Exit — The Loop Continues
Take home a seed of change. From waste to wonder, from today to tomorrow.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Metrofarm and where is it located in Singapore?
Metrofarm is Singapore's leading urban farming initiative. Our flagship rooftop farm is located on Level 7 of the Downtown East carpark in Pasir Ris, Singapore. We specialize in growing 100% pesticide-free fresh produce using a sustainable, closed-loop aquaponics system.
How does Metrofarm's closed-loop aquaponics system work?
Our closed-loop system combines aquaculture (raising fish) and hydroponics (growing plants in water) in a symbiotic environment. The nutrient-rich wastewater from our fish tanks is filtered and fed to our vertical crops (like kale, baby spinach, and rocket) as natural fertilizer. The plants absorb the nutrients, purifying the water before it is recirculated back to the fish.
Are Metrofarm's vegetables pesticide-free?
Yes, all crops at Metrofarm are grown 100% pesticide-free. We use natural biological pest controls instead of chemical pesticides or herbicides, ensuring clean, fresh, and nutrient-dense vegetables from seed to table.
Who does Metrofarm supply fresh produce to?
We supply fresh leafy greens daily to Singapore's top kitchens and B2B culinary partners, including Swissôtel The Stamford, Fairmont Singapore, Hilton Orchard, Pullman Hill Street, Grand Hyatt Singapore, and KEK Seafood. We also offer community initiatives and education programs.
How can I book a farm tour or visit Metrofarm Pasir Ris?
